Firefox’s Smart Window adds AI form filling and webpage monitoring
Firefox 的 Smart Window 新增 AI 表单填写和网页监控
Decide whether form-filling convenience is worth letting Firefox's Smart Window read your open tabs, including LinkedIn and portfolio pages, to draft job applications for you.
Judgment
Firefox Smart Window beta users in the US and Canada must decide whether to let the browser read selected open tabs, including LinkedIn or portfolio pages, and send that content to Google’s Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite for form drafts, trading convenience for third-party exposure of work-history data.
Basis
The Verge’s Emma Roth reports that Mozilla says Smart Window can pull information from open tabs, such as an online portfolio or LinkedIn page, to paste work history into a job application. The mechanism: open a form with at least four text fields, choose “Fill from sources,” review the tabs Firefox will draw from, select or deselect them, and let the browser generate suggestions. Mozilla notes that data from source pages is shared with Google’s Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite, the model generating the text. The feature currently supports text fields; dropdown menus and PDFs are in progress. Mozilla is also adding /watch tasks for sales or job listings, checked daily or weekly only while Firefox is open, paused after 60 days without a change and stopped after 90 days. Both features roll out to the Smart Window beta on desktop in the US and Canada, with other countries in the “coming months.”

Unclear The source does not say how long Google retains the tab content sent to Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite or whether Mozilla offers an opt-out beyond deselecting tabs.
